What happens before, during and after a booking, and where to look when you need to change something.
Before you book
Check the fare rules, the cancellation window and whether the price includes bags and transfers. These three things explain most surprises later.
Confirmations
Every booking generates a confirmation from the supplier with a reference number. Keep it. It is the document that decides what you are entitled to.
Payments
Payments are taken by the supplier or payment provider handling the booking. Card statements often show the supplier name rather than ours.
My bookings
Finding your reservation
We do not hold a login area for reservations. Your booking lives with the airline, property or operator that issued it, which is also the fastest place to manage it.
- Search your inbox for the supplier name and the word confirmation or reference.
- Use the reference on the supplier's own manage booking page to view or change it.
- If the booking was arranged through an agency, changes usually have to go back through that agency even when the airline is willing.
- Lost the confirmation? Send us the date, route and the email you used and we will help you trace it.
Flexible travel
Flexible travel options
Flexibility is worth paying for when plans are genuinely uncertain, and a waste of money when they are not. A simple rule: pay for flexibility on the expensive, hard to replace part of the trip, and take the cheaper fixed option on the rest.
Free cancellation accommodation
Usually free to choose and easy to rebook. Take it whenever the price difference is small.
Flexible airline fares
Often costs more than a second cheap ticket would. Compare the two before upgrading the fare.
Refundable extras
Transfers, car hire and tickets are frequently refundable up to a day or two before. Check the dates.
Travel insurance
Covers the things flexibility does not, such as illness and delays. Read what is excluded before relying on it.
